Okay, this is FINALLY done. What you're looking at here is just over a month's hard labour, from blue planning pencil version to final finished coloured version. It was hard work and I'm IMMENSELY satisfied that it's finished.
So, Mega Man 2. What can I say about it aside from point out the obvious? Great game. Best in the Mega Man series. Probably my third favourite game ever after Super Mario World and Sonic CD. Platforming perfection. 8 perfectly designed bosses, 14 amazingly designed stages, and some pretty great controls.
Mega Man 2 pretty much honed everything that was great about the formula. I mean, the original Mega Man is okay for what it was, but was definitely a work in progress kinda deal. It was no way as refined or finished as the original Super Mario Brothers or Sonic the Hedgehog, that's for sure. In this instance, Mega Man 2 is a breath of fresh air. All the other MM games would follow the example made by MM2. So, that alone makes this game A BIG DEAL.
I'm sorry if I'm not making much sense. I just finished this picture half an hour ago and I've been staring at it on and off for about 2 weeks in Photoshop, slowly colouring it, because I suck at colouring, and I'm just so glad it's FINALLY DONE.
I drew up the blue pencil of this at the beginning of August, finished off the inking within the first two weeks of the month (kinda slacked off), and then agonised for 2 weeks over the colouring.
Good bits about the colouring - The rocks. Just the general look of the colouring (it doesn't look rushed, in my opinion). The use of brushes.
Bad bits about the colouring - Still need to learn more about tone and shade and things like that. Need to learn more tricks in Photoshop to make this whole thing a lot faster (I was almost driven mad).
Tell me what you think. I like it, but I've been wrong about tons of stuff before. So, yeah, input would be awesome.
